The event is Friday, October 20, 2017 at the Lake Eva Event Center 799 John's Haines City, FL 33844. The reception will be from 6 pm until 7 pm followed by our banquet at 8 pm. We anticipate attendance of 300 people from across central Florida.
We are inviting Candidates running for office to be a part this event. This is your opportunity to meet and have one-on-one conversations with voters in the I-4 corridor. There is opportunity to display your information as well as purchase ads in our journal or purchase a table to the banquet for staff and supporters. Please attached information.
The idea to host the reception came directly from the NAACP branch's mission, "Part of our mission of course, is to inform our members and the public on the issues that are prevailing in our county and our state. We don't endorse candidates or parties, but we do try to focus on the issues that are important to our community and the things that impact our quality of life. Voting is the one thing that has a direct impact on all of that."
All members of the community are encouraged to attend the reception and meet one-on-one with the candidates who hope to represent the area through an elected position. "This is not a forum or a debate, this is a chance for our guest from the community to meet with these candidates and hear directly from them what the issues are that matter to them most."
*We want to do whatever we can to encourage and promote an informed electorate.*
